The UFC did not take long to find him a new fight and he will headline UFC on FX 5 on October 5 in Minneapolis and will take on Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.

The UFC made the announcement on their website and the fight card will come from the Target Center. This will be the first time the UFC has been back to Minnesota since UFC 87 in 2008.

Browne (13-0-1) was scheduled to meet Ben Rothwell next weekend at UFC on FOX 4, but Rothwell had to pull out of the fight with an ankle injury.

Since entering the UFC, he has gone 4-0-1 with the draw coming against Cheick Kongo at UFC 120. He has won a fight night bonus in two of his last three fights and is coming off a submission of the night victory at UFC 145 against Chad Griggs.

Silva (16-4) recently came to the UFC from Strikeforce and is currently on a two fight losing streak. He made his UFC debut against Cain Velasquez at UFC 146 and was defeated in the first round.

Prior to his two fight losing streak, “Bigfoot” was on a three fight winning streak with the most notable win coming against Fedor Emelianenko in the quarterfinals of the Strikeforce World Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament.

UFC on FX 5 takes place on October 5th at the Target Center in Minneapolis and the UFC will be announcing ticket information in the near future.
