Bellator champion Eduardo Dantas defeated last night in Brazil

The Bellator Fighting Championships allows it’s fighters to take fights outside of the United States and bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas took a fight last night in Brazil.

Dantas recently won the Bellator bantamweight title at Bellator 65, when he defeated Zach Makovsky and is scheduled to return to the Bellator cage during the seventh season at Bellator 79 on November 2nd.

He will likely be defending his title on that card against Marcos Galvao, who won the season six bantamweight tournament this past Friday night.

Dantas elected to take a fight before his next Bellator fight and that happened last night at Shooto Brazil 33: Fight for BOPE 2. He took on Tyson Nam and he entered the fight with a record of 11-4 with five of his victories by knockout. The fight lasted less than two minutes and Nam now has six career victories by knockout.

With the win over Dantas, Bellator officials could be looking to sign Nam to a contract and get him into a bantamweight tournament.
