UFC officials announced the fight booking overnight and the bout will take place on the preliminary card.

UFC on FS 1 takes place on August 17th from the TD Garden in Boston and the UFC has not announced which fight will headline the card at this time.

Ring (13-2) was on The Ultimate Fighter 11 and his official UFC debut came in early 2011 at UFC 127 where he defeated Riki Fukuda by unanimous decision. He won his first two fights in the organization before being defeated by Tim Boetsch at UFC 135.

He has only one once in his last three fights with the only win coming at UFC 149 against Court McGee. He won the fight by unanimous decision and most felt that McGee should have won the fight on the scorecards.

Hall (7-3) was on the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter and lost in the final to Kelvin Gastelum by split decision. It was his first defeat since losing to Costa Philippou in 2011 in the regional promotion, Ring of Combat. Prior to entering the UFC, he had won three fights in a row which included winning the Ring of Combat middleweight title.

The current UFC on FS1 card is below:

Alistair Overeem (36-12, 1NC) vs. Travis Browne (14-1-1)
Matt Brown (17-11) vs. Thiago Alves (19-9)
Joe Lauzon (22-8) vs. Michael Johnson (12-8)
Nick Ring (13-2) vs. Uriah Hall (7-3)
