A middleweight bout has been added to UFC 163 on August 3rd in Brazil and Thales Leites returns to the organization and will face Tom Watson.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Thursday and the fight will likely take place on the preliminary card.
UFC 163 takes place on August 3rd from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro Brazil and will be headlined by Jose Aldo defending the UFC featherweight title against Anthony Pettis.
Leites (20-4) has been out of the UFC since 2009 and has won six of his seven fights since exiting the organization. Four of his last six wins have come by submission and he recently defeated Matt Horwich at Amazon Forest Combat 2 by submission at the end of March.
Watson (16-5) was signed by the UFC last year and has gone 1-1 in the organziation. After losing his debut to Brad Tavares at UFC on FUEL TV 5, he returned at UFC on FUEL TV 7 and defeated Stanislav Nedkov by TKO in the second round. He won the knockout of the night and fight of the night bonus for his win over Nedkov.
