After being canceled from WSOF 9, Jimmy Jones vs. Rudy Morales added to tonight’s Bellator 115

The lightweight bout between Jimmy Jones and Rudy Morales that was scheduled to take place at last week’s World Series of Fighting 9 fight card in Las Vegas will now take place tonight at Bellator 115. Bellator 115

Bellator officials confirmed the fight booking to TheMMAReport.com on early Friday afternoon.

Bellator 115 takes place tonight at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada and will be headlined by Vitaly Minakov defending the heavyweight title against Cheick Kongo.

The fight between Jones and Moraes was pulled from the World Series of Fighting 9 card last week after the Nevada State Athletic Commission would only allow eleven fights on the card.

“Thirteen is out of the norm and normally when we approved a date, we usually do not go over nine,” NSAC Chairman Francisco Aguilar told TheMMAReport.com. “Nine is out norm and sometimes we will allow additional fights up to eleven. There was never a discussion of thirteen when the date was approved. To accommodate their request and to accommodate their needs, we did look at eleven fights.”

Both fighters were weighed in last night and they both made the lightweight limit of 156 pounds. With the addition of this fight, Bellator 115 will now have five fights on the preliminary card.
