Season six tournament winner Karl Amoussou will look to snap a two fight losing streak on Friday night when he faces Bellator newcomer David Gomez on the main card of Bellator 117.
The fight booking was confirmed to TheMMAReport.com on Monday.
Bellator 117 will come from the Mid-American Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa and will be headlined by Douglas Lima facing Rick Hawn for the vacant Bellator welterweight title.
Amoussou (16-6-2) won the season six Bellator welterweight tournament in 2012, when he scored the fastest submission in Bellator welterweight history as he submitted Bryan Baker with an inverted heel hook. Since that fight, he has dropped back to back fights including a decision lost to Paul Bradley.
Gomez (16-7) has won seven of his last ten fights and has mainly competed in the promotion, King of the Cage. Four of his last five victories have come by TKO/KO and is coming off a TKO victory last month against Quinton McCottrell.
