World Series of Fighting 9 TV Ratings Up 14% from previous live event

This past saturday’s World Series of Fighting 9 event was televised live on the NBC Sports Network and Rousimar Palhares submit Steve Carl in the main event to win the welterweight title. WSOF 9 Poster

According to Nielsen sources, the preliminary overnight ratings for the World Series of Fighting 9 event reached 242,000 total viewers, which is up 14 percent from World Series of Fighting 8 (212,000) in January.

This is the second most watched World Series of Fighting event as the most watched fight card was World Series of Fighting 4 last year, which drew 264,000. With the viewership from Saturday night, the average viewership for a live World Series of Fighting event is now 201,000.

When it came to the competition, the World Series of Fighting card went up against an Elite Eight game in the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament as Wisconsin defeated Arizona by one point in overtime.
