Nick LoBosco says his WSOF 10 bout against Lance Palmer is his chance to prove that he is the next big thing

The opening bout of the World Series of Fighting 10 main card on Saturday will be a featherweight bout as Nick LoBosco will look to remain undefeated as he takes on Team Alpha Male product Lance Palmer.

LoBosco (7-0) made his professional mixed martial arts debut in 2011 and won his World Series of Fighting debut last year as he defeated Fabio Mello by knockout in the first round.

The win over Mello was his second straight stoppage victory to take place in the first round and all five of his stoppage victories have come in the first round.

Saturday night will be the biggest fight of his career as he takes on Palmer, who is coming off a lost to current featherweight champion Georgi Karakhanyan.

“I’m moving up,” LoBosco said. “Every time I fight I want someone better. This is a chance to prove that I’m The Next Big Thing. I believe I’m world-class caliber and I’m always ready to prove it. I’m explosive. I’m pretty athletic and powerful so don’t blink.”

Palmer (7-1) has been considered one of the best products out of Team Alpha Male. Just like many of the fighters in that camp, he has a strong wrestling base and three of his seven wins have come by submission. When it comes to Palmer, LoBosco knows he is a tough opponent and he is ready for anything that he will bring to the cage on Saturday night.

“He seems like a tough guy, he pushes the pace and comes to fight,” LoBosco stated. “His whole team does that. I think he’ll come hard and be aggressive. I’ll just stay ready for everything. Wherever I see an opening is where I go. If I see an opening on the ground then I’ll take it there. If I see someone is uncomfortable standing then I’ll keep it standing. I do whatever it takes to win big. But I don’t do stupid stuff. A knockout in the 15th minute is the same as a knockout in the first minute. A knockout is a knockout. I’m going to take my time and I’m going to find an opening.”

“There isn’t any bad blood between us. He’s focused on getting ready and I’m focused on getting ready. I’m not a big trash-talker; you can say whatever you want but at the end of the day you’ve got to fight, so it doesn’t really matter. Somebody could call me out, tell me I look stupid or act stupid, but I don’t really care.”
