Former Strikeforce champion and fan favorite Nick Diaz is coming out of retirement as he has agreed to a three-fight contract extension with the UFC. Diaz agreed to the new contract on Thursday and is expected to return in early 2015.

Diaz (26-9, 1NC) has lost back to back fights and his last fight came in March of last year as he was defeated by then welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. Prior to these defeats, he had won eleven in a row including a decision win over B.J. Penn.
