The withdrawal of Cejudo was announced by the UFC on Friday afternoon in a statement on the promotions website.

“Due to medical reasons, debuting flyweight Henry Cejudo has been forced to withdraw from Saturday’s UFC 177 bout against Scott Jorgensen in Sacramento,” the statement said. “The card will continue as scheduled with nine bouts.”

Following the statement by the UFC, Steven Marrocco of MMAJunkie.com reported details on why Cejudo was pulled from the event. Cejudo’s manager, William McFarlane told Marrocco that weight-cutting complications was the reason for the fighter being pulled from the event.

With Cejudo being unable to compete, this also means Jorgensen is off the card. Jorgensen reacted to the news of his opponent being unable to compete on Twitter and wish the best for Cejudo.
