Jordan Mein vs. Mike Pyle booked for UFC Fight Night 49 co-main event following injuries to Brandon Thatch and Demian Maia

Following injuries to their scheduled opponents for UFC Fight Night 49 on August 23rd, Jordan Mein and Mike Pyle will now meet in the new co-main event of the fight card.

UFC officials announced the change on Wednesday.

UFC Fight Night 49 will come from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 23rd and will be headlined by a lightweight bout as former champion Benson Henderson meets Rafael dos Anjos.

Pyle (26-9-1) was scheduled to face Demian Maia, but Maia pulled out of the fight today due to an undisclosed injury. He will enter this fight following a victory as he defeated TJ Waldburger in February and he has won five of his last six fights.

Mein (28-9) was previously scheduled to face Thiago Alves and Brandon Thatch on this card before both fighters pulled out of the fight with an injury. He has won two of his three fights in the UFC and his only lost in the promotion came against top title contender Matt Brown. His most recent appearance in the octagon came in April as he defeated Herman Perpetuo by split decision.
