Corey Anderson vs. Gian Villante added to UFC 181

A light heavyweight bout has been added to UFC 181 on December 6th in Las Vegas as Ultimate Fighter 19 winner Corey Anderson will meet Gian Villante on the preliminary card.

The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Tuesday.

UFC 181 will come from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will be headlined by Chris Weidman defending the UFC middleweight title against Vitor Belfort.

Anderson (4-0) was a member of Team Edgar during The Ultimate Fighter 19 and defeated Matt Van Buren at the live finale to win the light heavyweight tournament. He won the fight by TKO in the first round and it was his third victory to come by TKO in the opening round.

Villante (12-5) has gone 2-2 since entering the UFC in 2013 and he is a trainer partner of middleweight champion Chris Weidman. He will enter this fight following a victory as he defeated Sean O’Connell at UFC Fight Night 43 in June by split decision.
