Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal vs. Tom DeBlass official for Bellator 131

A rumored light heavyweight bout for Bellator 131 on November 15th is now official as Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal will meet Tom DeBlass in a fight that was scheduled to take place earlier this month.King Mo

The fight booking was made official by Bellator on Monday.

Bellator 131 will come from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California and will be headlined by Tito Ortiz meeting Stephan Bonnar in a light heavyweight bout.

Lawal (13-4, 1NC) was scheduled to meet DeBlass earlier this month at Bellator 123, but DeBlass had to pull out of the fight with an injury. Lawal would end up facing Dustin Jacoby and won by TKO in the second round.

“Tom has been talking since we were supposed to fight in September,” Lawal said. “He’s a good fighter, but my jab is going to erase his teeth and swell up his eyes. My right is going to make him see stars and bright lights. Another fight, another win.”

DeBlass (9-2) has won back to back fights in Bellator since coming out of retirement last year. Both of his wins in Bellator have come by TKO/KO and his last win came in November of last year as he defeated Jason Lambert at Bellator 108.

“Listen, I respect Mo and I think he’s a world class athlete,” DeBlass said. “That being said, I know what I’m capable of, and I not only believe that I will win the fight, but I’m going to finish him. Bellator has treated me incredible, and I’ve been asking for big fights. Let Mo do his talking. His mouth is his best weapon.”
