Following the Bellator 131 Weigh-Ins on Friday, the promotion will be holding a pre-party kickoff event at Dave and Busters in San Diego and Wanderlei Silva will be one of the fighters in attendance.
Bellator announced the event in a press release on Monday and Silva will be joined by Royce Gracie, Randy Couture and Frank Shamrock. The event will begin at 6 p.m. PT and the fighters will be taking pictures and signing autographs.
Along with attending the pre-party kickoff, Silva will join Gracie, Couture, and Shamrock at the Bellator 131 fight card on Saturday night at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.
“After we saw just an overwhelming response to our Bellator Fan Fest a few weeks ago, we wanted to once again give our fans a chance to be a part of something special and give everyone the opportunity to spend time with a group of fighters that built the sport we all love,” Bellator President Scott Coker said. “We have events taking place all week around the San Diego area as we prepare for the biggest night of fights in company history, and we want everyone to be a part of it.”
Silva is currently under suspension with the Nevada Athletic Commission and is still under a promotional contract with the UFC. He released a video last week criticizing the UFC indirectly about fighter pay and treatment of fighters when they are traveling to events.
