A featherweight bout has been announced for July’s UFC 189 as Ultimate Fighter 14 alum Dennis Bermudez will meet Jeremy Stephens.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Monday.
UFC 189 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will be headlined by a title fight as Jose Aldo defends the featherweight title against Conor McGregor.
Bermudez (14-4) has won seven of his nine fights in the UFC and will enter this fight following a defeat to Ricardo Lamas. Prior to the fight with Lamas, he had won seven in a row and won a fight night bonus in four of those victories.
Stephens (23-11) dropped down to the featherweight division in 2013 and won three straight fights in the 145 pound division. Since those victories, he has dropped back to back fights and the most recent defeat came in December against Charles Oliveira.
