The signing was announced by the promotion on Wednesday and it was initially announced that Khasbulaev would meet former champion Rick Glenn at WSOF 21. However, Glenn has suffered an injury and he is out of the event.

WSOF 21 will come from the Edmonton Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on June 5 and will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight as champion Smealinho Rama defends the title against former Bellator heavyweight tournament finalist Blagoi Ivanov.

Khasbulaev (21-5) is currently on a nine fight winning streak and five of those wins came in Bellator. During the season eight tournament, he scored victories over Fabricio Guerreiro, Marlon Sandro, and Mike Richman to win the featherweight tournament. He has not competed since that tournament due to a visa issue and was released from his Bellator contract last year.
