A lightweight bout has been added to UFC Fight Night 71 in San Diego as Kevin Lee will meet James Moontasri and the bout could be placed on the main card broadcast.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Friday.
UFC Fight Night 71 will come from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California on July 15 and will be headlined by a heavyweight bout as former UFC champion Frank Mir meets Todd Duffee.
Lee (10-1) has won three in a row since losing his UFC debut to Al Iaquinta in early 2014. All of his wins in the UFC have come by decision and his most recent win came against Michel Prazeres at UFC Fight Night 60. Moontasri (8-2) also lost his UFC debut as he lost to Joe Ellenberger by split decision in June of last year. He returned in February and scored his first win in the UFC as he defeated Cody Pfister.
