Fights to make following Bellator 137

Bellator 137 took place this past Friday night in Temecula, California and was headlined by now former Bellator middleweight champion Brandon Halsey remaining undefeated with a fourth round TKO victory against Kendall Grove.

In addition to the main event, the main card on Spike TV saw victories by former bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas, surging welterweight Fernando Gonzalez, and rising bantamweight Darrion Caldwell.

With the fight card in the books, the question now becomes what is next for all of the fighters on the main card. I give my thoughts on what matchup should be next for all of the fighters that competed on the main card of Bellator 137.

Brandon Halsey:
The question about Halsey and his next fight is what weight class will it take place at. He missed weight for his fight against Grove, which ended up costing him the belt. He has talked about moving up in weight, but I think we will see him stay at middleweight.

Prediction: Tamdan McCrory

Kendall Grove:
Grove is now 2-2 in the Bellator middleweight division and still should be considered a title contender due to the lack of depth in the division, even after a lost to the now former champion. There are several different opponents that he could face and may depend on whether Halsey stays at middleweight.

Prediction: Rafael Carvalho

Eduardo Dantas:
Bellator 137 was the first fight for Dantas since losing the bantamweight title and walked away with a decision victory against Richman. The fight almost did not happen due to Richman missing weight and Dantas fought a smart fight to walk away with the victory.

Prediction: Marcos Galvao

Mike Richman:
Richman has the same question to answer that I mentioned about Halsey. After missing weight, will he continue at bantamweight or move back to featherweight? Just a gut feeling, I expect him to stay at bantamweight since the road to a title is shorter at 135.

Prediction: Joe Warren

Fernando Gonzalez:
With his victory over Curtis Millender, Gonzalez is now 4-0 in the Bellator welterweight division. He is current facing a potential six month medical suspension, which could end up having an effect on who he may face next.

Prediction: Paul Daley

Curtis Millender:
In his fight with Gonzalez, Millender was looking good early on. Some people felt that Millender may have been up two rounds before losing to Gonzalez. He should get another fight in Bellator and will likely be a preliminary card bout.

Prediction: Jesse Juarez

Darrion Caldwell:
Friday night was the bantamweight debut for Caldwell and he is now 4-0 in the Bellator cage. The win over Rafael Silva was by far the biggest victory of his career and he would appear to be on a fast track to a potential title fight.

Prediction: L.C. Davis

Rafael Silva:
Since winning the 2013 Summer Series bantamweight tournament, Silva is 1-2 and both of his defeats have come against fighters with a wrestling background. Even though he has lost two of his last three fights, he should still be considered one of the best bantamweights in Bellator.

Prediction: Joe Taimanglo
