A bantamweight bout has been added to the UFC Fight Night card on August 8 in Nashville as Roman Salazar will meet Marlon Vera on the preliminary card.
UFC officials announced the fight booking today.
UFC Fight Night 73 will come from the Bridgestone Arena and will be headlined by Ovince St. Preux meeting Glover Teixeira in a battle of top ten UFC light heavyweights.
Salazar (9-3, 1NC) is winless in his two appearances in the UFC octagon and is coming off a no-contest in February against Kid Yamamoto. Prior to signing with UFC, he had won four straight and two of those wins came by guillotine choke. Vera (6-2-1) was a contestant on TUF: Latin America and lost his UFC debut against Marco Beltran. He is 1-2-1 in his last four fights and five of his wins have come by stoppage.
