Titan FC featherweight champion Andre Harrison: I still haven’t performed to where I think I am

Andre Harrison became the Titan FC featherweight champion just over a week ago when he defeated Kurt Holobaugh by unanimous decision in the co-main event of Titan FC 34.

The victory over Holobaugh was the third win for Harrison (10-0) in the Titan FC cage and to date, is the biggest victory of his career. While it’s the biggest win of his career, the Bellmore Kickboxing Academy product knows he can perform better.

“I think I displayed a few more things in this fight, but again — maybe they say I am a tough critic on myself. I know what I am capable of and my coaches know what I am capable of,” Harrison told The MMA Report. “Teammates are everybody because they see me on a daily basis. Again, I still haven’t performed to where I think I am. Just have to get right back to work.”

Based on that comment, was Harrison “very disappointed” or just “disappointed” with his performance against Holobaugh?

“I would not say very, but I am disappointed in my performance,” he explained. “I am not very, like down and depressed about it. At the end of the day, I did fight somebody who had a great record and is a great fighter. Despite everything else, I remained undefeated. I did not lose. In retrospect, I got the job done.”

Following his victory over Holobaugh to become the Titan FC featherweight champion, Titan FC officials announced that former champion Desmond Green will be the first title defense for Harrison. Both fighters are two of the best featherweights outside of the UFC and Harrison knows Green wants to get the Titan FC title back.

“Desmond is definitely a tough dude. He is strong and explosive. He held the title before so he has been in two, five round bouts with Steven Siler and Kurt Holobaugh. He is definitely hungry to get it back and my job is to make sure he doesn’t.”

The date for the fight for Harrison and Green has not been announced at this time. Green recently told The MMA Report that he would like his next fight to take place at Titan FC 35 on September 19 and Harrison is open to fighting on that card.

“I am game for September, but the only bad thing is my daughter’s birthday is September 15,” he said. “If they would have did it that weekend prior to her birthday. That would make me very happy because I could have gone straight from the fight to see my little girl.”
