Another RFA champion has been signed by Bellator as the California based promotion has signed welterweight champion Gilbert Smith.
The signing of Smith by Bellator was confirmed to The MMA Report on Tuesday evening.
Smith (12-4) has won seven of his nine fights since exiting the UFC in 2013 and won the RFA welterweight title earlier this year when he defeated Benjamin Smith by armbar submission at RFA 26 in June. He successfully defended the title in October as he defeated Bristol Marunde by TKO at RFA 31.
The Bellator debut of Smith is expected to be announced shortly by the promotion.
