Vitor Miranda vs. Marcelo Guimaraes official for UFC 196

A middleweight bout is now official for March’s UFC 197 in Las Vegas as Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 runner-up Vitor Miranda will meet fellow Brazilian Marcelo Guimaraes on the preliminary card.

UFC officials announced the fight booking on Tuesday.

UFC 197 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on March 5 and will be headlined by a title fight as Rafael dos Anjos defends the lightweight title against current featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

Miranda (11-4) has won back to back fights by TKO since losing to Antonio Carlos Junior in the final of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 and he is coming off a second round TKO against Clint Hester at UFC 190. Guimaraes (9-1-1) came to the UFC in 2012 after being the Jungle Fights middleweight champion and this will be his first fight since 2014, which was a split decision win against Andy Enz at UFC Fight Night 44.
