Lewis Corapi vs. Keenan Raymond slated for CES MMA 35

A lightweight bout has been announced for next month’s CES MMA 35 as Lewis Corapi will look for his second straight victory when he meets Keenan Raymond.

The fight booking was announced by CES MMA on Thursday.

CES MMA 35 will come from the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, Massachusetts on April 16 and will be headlined by a featherweight bout as Pedro Gonzalez meets Andres Jeudi.

Corapi (7-2) is coming off a decision victory in November against Jeff Anderson and he has alternated wins and losses in his last four fights. This will be his third fight in CES MMA and he has gone 1-1 in his previous appearances in the promotion.

“I don’t know a whole lot about my opponent except he’s got a judo background so I’m looking for the knockout,” said Corapi. “Striking is my bread and butter. I enjoy jiu-jitsu, but I come from a Muay Thai academy and, not to sound too macho, but I enjoy punching people in the face.”

Raymond (3-3) enters this fight following a defeat as he lost to Peter Barrett in January. After starting 2-0 in his pro career, he has dropped three of four and his last win came at the beginning of the year against Ryan Todd.

“I’m going to be in shape and ready to push the pace, and I’m definitely looking to showcase my improved stand-up,” Raymond said. “Fans can expect a lot of action, high intensity — and I’m going for a finish.”
