Dana White: Conor McGregor has been pulled from UFC 200

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor was scheduled to headlined UFC 200 on July 9 in Las Vegas against Nate Diaz in a rematch of their UFC 196 bout, but McGregor has been pulled from the event.

The announcement of McGregor being pulled from the event was announced by UFC President Dana White on Tuesday evening on ESPN and the UFC issued a statement following his appearance on SportsCenter.

UFC President Dana White announced Tuesday that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has been pulled from his UFC 200 main event against Nate Diaz on July 9.

White revealed that the decision was made by the promotion after McGregor informed UFC officials that he would not participate in any promotional activities, including a commercial shoot and press conferences.

The UFC is currently working on a new main event for the card, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Other bouts currently set for the event include two title fights, with Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar battling for the interim featherweight title, and Miesha Tate defending her UFC women’s bantamweight crown against Amanda Nunes.

White’s announcement of McGregor being pulled from the event came a couple of hours after McGregor tweeted that he has “decided to retire young.” With McGregor being pulled from the July 9 event slated for the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the UFC will be announcing the new main event of UFC 200 shortly.
