Daniel Cormier vs. Jon Jones rematch will headline UFC 200

The new main event for UFC 200 has been announced by the promotion as UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will meet interim UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones in a title unification bout.

The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Good Morning America on ABC.

UFC 200 will come from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 9 and pre-sale tickets for the event go on sale today.

This will be the second meeting between Cormier and Jones as they initially meet at UFC 182. On that night, Jones walked away with a decision victory to retain the UFC light heavyweight title and was stripped of the title a couple of months later due to issues outside of the UFC. Cormier would end up winning the vacant title in May of last year with a stoppage victory against Anthony Johnson and successfully defended the title against Alexander Gustafsson in October.

Cormier and Jones were scheduled to have a rematch last weekend at UFC 197, but a knee injury suffered by Cormier forced the fight to be delayed. Jones stayed on the fight card and scored a decision win against Ovince Saint Preux to claim the interim UFC light heavyweight title.
