The inaugural Bellator women’s featherweight title will be on the line in May at Bellator 155 as Marloes Coenen will meet Julia Budd in the featured preliminary bout.

The fight booking was confirmed by Bellator following a report by Bleacher Report.

Bellator 155 will come from the CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho on May 20 and will be headlined by a title fight as Rafael Carvalho defends the middleweight title against Melvin Manhoef.

Coenen (22-6) made her Bellator debut in 2014 and she has won both of her fights in the promotion. Her most recent win came at Bellator 141 last year as she submitted Arlene Blencowe. Budd (8-2) has also won both of her fights in Bellator and she is currently on a six fight winning streak. Both of her wins in Bellator have come by decision and her most recent win came at Bellator 146 against Roberta Rovel.

    What kind of freaking joke is this? Way to go Bellator, treat your women fighters like they are second rate fighters by having them fighting for a Bellator Title on your preliminary card. This is so disrespectful to every woman fighting in the Bellator organization. What a stupid stupid stupid stupid idea to have a Championship fight on the preliminary card
