Diego Brandao receives nine month suspension from Nevada State Athletic Commission

Former UFC featherweight Diego Brandao was recently suspended nine months by USADA for his positive drug test during UFC 195 and on Wednesday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission handed Brandao a nine month suspension for testing positive for marijuana.

Along with the nine month suspension, Brandao was fined 30 percent of his fight purse ($10,800) and he will have to submit a clean test to the Nevada State Athletic Commission before he is eligible to come off suspension.

The nine month suspension will be retroactive to his UFC 195 fight and he would be eligible to come off suspension on October 2, 2016. His suspensions with the Nevada State Athletic Commission and USADA will run concurrently.
