Sergei Kharitonov scratched from Bellator 154, Evangelista Santos vs. Saad Awad elevated to co-main event

Sergei Kharitonov has been pulled from Saturday’s Bellator 154 due to an illness and the new co-main event of the fight card will be a welterweight bout between Evangelista Santos and Saad Awad.

The fight change and new co-main event was confirmed to The MMA Report by a Bellator official on early Tuesday evening.

Bellator 154 will come from the SAP Center in San Jose, California on Saturday night and the event will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout as Phil Davis meets Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal.

Kharitonov was scheduled to face Josh Appelt in the co-main event of the fight card and this was going to be his Bellator debut. With this fight being scratched from the fight card, the event will go forward with fourteen bouts and the current fight card lineup is below.
