Titan FC 39: Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante also felt he would fight Pat Healy at some point

The vacant Titan FC lightweight title will be on the line in the main event of Titan FC 39 on June 10 at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Florida as Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante makes his promotional debut against former Titan FC lightweight champion Pat Healy.

Cavalcante (20-8-1, 2NC) is coming off a recent win and that was his first fight since September of 2014. He enters Titan FC 39 with victories in four of his last six fights and recently stated on “The MMA Report Podcast” that he always felt that he would face Pat Healy at some point in their careers.

“He can make a dog fight. If you let him kick you in the face and control the cage and the action, he can make it a dog fight,” Cavalcante said. “He keeps it going, pushing and sometime makes a boring fight as well. He is a veteran but he was one of the guys I knew I was going to fight. We have been in the game for awhile. We fought in the same organization before. We fought for Strikeforce. I don’t remember if we fought in other organizations but in Strikeforce, we were the contenders. Soon or later, I’m going to fight him. It took awhile, but the fight is coming up. Some guys in this sport, you know you are going to fight them and I’m glad I am going to fight him.”
