Anthony Johnson vs. Glover Teixeira announced as co-main event of UFC 202

A light heavyweight bout that was initially scheduled to take place later this month at UFC on FOX 20 has a new date as Anthony Johnson will meet Glover Teixeira in the co-main event of UFC 202 on August 20 in Las Vegas.

The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Monday evening and the promotion also revealed that Donald Cerrone will meet Rick Story in a welterweight bout in the fight card set for T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

UFC 202 will be headlined by a rematch in the welterweight division as Nate Diaz will meet current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and ticket information is expected to be announced shortly by the UFC.

Johnson (21-5) has won back to back fights since losing to Daniel Cormier for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title. He is 11-1 in his last twelve fights and his last four wins have come by TKO/KO. Teixeira (25-4) is currently on a three fight winning streak and is coming off a knockout win against Rashad Evans. During his winning streak, all of the wins have come by stoppage and he has won a fight night bonus in two of the three fights.
