Bellator 156 Medical Suspensions: Dantas, Galvao and Honeycutt facing a potential six month suspension

The medical suspensions for Bellator 156 have been released by the California State Athletic Commission and main card fighters Eduardo Dantas, Marcos Galvao and Chris Honeycutt are among the fighters facing a potential six month suspension.

California State Athletic Commission Executive Director Andy Foster released the medical suspensions on Friday to The MMA Report after they were requested.

Bellator 156 took place last Friday night at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California and was headlined by Dantas becoming a two-time Bellator bantamweight champion as he defeated Galvao by unanimous decision.

The complete Bellator 156 medical suspensions are below:

  • Eduardo Dantas: Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days (left hand).
  • Marcos Galvao: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days (hard bout); Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days (possible right orbital fracture).
  • Thiago Jambo: Suspended 60 days and no contact for 30 days (knockout).
  • John Salter: Suspended 60 days and no contact for 60 days (cut to right upper eye).
  • Brandon Halsey: Suspended 60 days and no contact for 60 days (cut to both eyes).
  • Mikkel Parlo: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days (hard bout).
  • Chris Honeycutt: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days (hard bout); Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days (right hand).
  • John Paul Elias: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days.
  • Myron Smith: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days.
  • Blake Watkins: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days; Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days (right knee).
  • Rob Broughton: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days.
  • AJ Matthews: Suspended 60 days and no contact for 60 days (cut to left cheek).
  • Clyde Keith: Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days (possible fracture left thumb).
