Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson passed away on Monday evening in South Florida at the age of 42 and the cause of his death is unknown. Following the news of Ferguson’s death, Bellator President Scott Coker released a statement on the death of Slice.

“We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating and untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family. One of the most popular MMA fighters ever, Kimbo was a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport,” Coker said in a statement. “Outside of the cage he was a friendly, gentle giant and a devoted family man. His loss leaves us all with extremely heavy hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ferguson family and all of Kimbo’s friends, fans, and teammates.”

    Wow! The man went from a street fighting YouTube sensation to one of the biggest draws in MMA. And yet, he seemed to be a devoted family man, who was so friendly with his fans outside of the cage. Rest in peace.
