Jorge Masvidal replaces Claudio Silva, meets Siyar Bahadurzada at UFC 201

Claudio Silva is out of UFC 201 due to undisclosed reasons and stepping up to meet Siyar Bahadurzada on the July 30 fight card in Atlanta, Georgia will be Jorge Masvidal.

The fight change was recently announced by the UFC.

UFC 201 will come from the Phillips Arena and the event will be headlined by a welterweight title fight as Robbie Lawler defends the UFC 170 pound title against Tyron Woodley.

Masvidal (29-11) enters this fight with back to back defeats and has gone 1-2 since returning to welterweight. Both of his recent defeats have come by split decision and the most recent defeat came last month against Lorenz Larkin. Bahadurzada (22-6-1) returned to competition in March after being away over two years and snapped a two fight losing streak against Brandon Thatch with a decision victory at UFC 196. He is 2-2 in the UFC and the other win came in his promotional debut against Paulo Thiago in 2012.
