Italian welterweight Marvin Vettori has signed with the UFC and he will make his promotional debut in August at UFC 202 as he will meet Alberto Uda on the preliminary card.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Tuesday morning.
UFC 202 will come from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 20 and will be headlined by a rematch in the welterweight division as Nate Diaz meets current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.
Vettori (10-2) is currently on a five fight winning streak and is coming off a submission win against Igor Araujo at Venator FC 3. Nine of his ten wins have come by finish and seven of those victories are by submission. Uda (9-1) is dropping down to the welterweight division after losing his UFC debut at middleweight against Jake Collier at UFC Fight Night 88. Eight of his nine wins have come by stoppage and four of those wins have come in the opening round.
