The amateur portion of tonight’s Valor Fights 34 will see a title fight in the women’s strawweight division as Shannon Goughary will look to claim the title when she meets Ashley Samples.
Goughary (5-4) will be stepping into competition for the second time in 28 days as she lost a decision to Laura Uyeda at V3 Fights and she is 4-2 in her last six fights. During a recent conversation with The MMA Report, Goughary explained the toughest challenge for her tonight will be the reach disadvantage she will have in the fight against Samples.
“I am pretty much use to it,” Goughary stated about having a reach disadvantage against Samples. “Everyone is pretty much taller than me. But I would say her reach is really the only thing that will be challenging for me to deal with. She is a little bit taller than me.
