UFC lightweight Kajan Johnson discusses opening Tristar Vancouver and when he wants to return to competition

Ultimate Fighter Nations alum Kajan Johnson has won back to back fights since dropping his official UFC debut in 2014 and is coming off a win against Naoyuki Kotani last year at UFC Fight Night 75.

It’s now been ten months since we have seen Johnson in the UFC octagon and the Canadian fighter is targeting a return to the octagon for later in the year. Since his last fight, Johnson decided to get in the gym business and he explained on this past Wednesday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast” why this was the perfect time to open up Tristar Vancouver.

“There was a lot that went into it really,” Johnson explained. “It was just the perfect timing. I had been looking at opening a Tristar Gym for quite some time now. I had been taking about it with Firas [Zahabi] and we were both excited for it. But I thought I would end up finishing my athletic career. Competitive aspect of it anyway and then move back to Vancouver and open up a Tristar. Couple of different things came into effect and I realized the only real move right now was to open the gym now. So here we are. I am opening it.”
