With rematch set for CES MMA 37, Kin Moy discusses what he remembers from first meeting with Andre Soukhamthath

The main event of CES MMA 37 will be a rematch as Kin Moy will look to claim the CES MMA bantamweight title when he meets champion Andre Soukhamthath on the fight card coming from the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island.

The first meeting between Moy and Soukhamthath came in early 2014 at CES MMA 21. On that night, Moy walked away with a decision victory and he talked about what he remember from their first meeting during this past Wednesday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast.”

“I remember it going a lot different than I was expecting,” Moy stated. “Me and Andre are both primarily known for our striking and we have a few good exchanges for sure. But I was pretty surprised he kept taking me down and we didn’t end up having much of a war on the feet like I was expecting. So I remember my biggest impression was a bit of surprise of how different a fight it was.”

“I remember feeling confident striking with him and even watching the tape afterwards, I felt like I had an advantage there,” he continued. “I was definitely stronger on the ground as well which won me the fight. But his wrestling is what really stuck out to me. That he was head and shoulder above me on. Keeping an eye on that for the rematch. I think he will employ his wrestling more strategically than he did the last time.”
