The World Series of Fighting (WSOF) will be heading to New York City on December 31 for a fight card that will air on NBC.

The event was announced on Saturday night during the WSOF 32 main card broadcast on NBCSN and the event is currently pending the approval of the New York State Athletic Commission.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring our exciting, world championship live event series to The Big Apple, where fans have been anxiously waiting for years, for live, professional MMA action to be able to happen in their city,” said World Series of Fighting CEO Carlos Silva said. “We have been working diligently,” continued Silva, “with the staff at the New York State Athletic Commission as well as the executives at Madison Square Garden to complete all of the necessary steps to make this historic and great event happen on New Year’s Eve.”

WSOF 36 will mark the second live WSOF fight card to air on NBC and more details on the event that is slated to take place at Madison Square Garden will be announced by the promotion in the coming weeks.
