Chris Weidman vs. Yoel Romero official for UFC 205

Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman will be part of the UFC 205 card on November 12 in New York City as he will meet Yoel Romero in a key 185 pound bout.

The fight booking was made official by the UFC on Tuesday morning.

UFC 205 will come from Madison Square Garden and will be headlined by a title fight as lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez will defend the UFC 155 pound title against current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

Weidman (13-1) is coming off a TKO defeat at the end of last year against Luke Rockhold and was scheduled to return earlier this year for a rematch against Rockhold, but he had to pull out of the fight due to an injury. Romero (11-1) is currently on a seven fight winning streak and is coming off a split decision win at UFC 194 against Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
