Demetrious Johnson on potential rematch against Dominick Cruz: If the money is right, then I’ll do it

UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will be making his next title defense in December at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale as he will meet the winner of the flyweight tournament taking place during this season of the UFC reality show.

Johnson (24-2-1) is currently on an eleven fight unbeaten streak and his last defeat came in 2011 against UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. Over the past couple of months, the mixed martial arts community has discussed the potential of Johnson moving up to bantamweight to have a rematch against Cruz.

During Wednesday’s episode of UFC Tonight on FS1, Johnson was asked about potentially going up to bantamweight to have a rematch against Cruz. “Mighty Mouse” stated that he is interested in the fight, as long as the money is right.

“He’s a big boy. It was a tough fight the first time. That was four years ago,” Johnson said. “I want to cement my legacy in my division. He’s not going anywhere. If the money is right, then I’ll do it.”
