Travis Browne fought at Bellator 10. Do you think he returns to Bellator? Was that the last fight on his UFC contract? Do you think Arlovksi and Mir end up in Bellator as well?

What’s the latest on Joe Duffy? The rumor is that Gegard Mousasi has signed with Bellator. They did a nice job improving their Middleweight division. Now they have to improve their Bantamweight, Women’s Featherweight, and Heavyweight divisions.

Are you more surprised that UFC didn’t re- sign Mousasi or that Bellator didn’t sign Overeem? I still can’t believe Bellator didn’t sign Overeem. Compared to some other big name free agents they signed.

This is the question you have to ask yourself if you are in charge with Bellator. Do you feel Alistair Overeem is worth $800k a fight? End of the day, this is a business. Bellator or any other MMA promotion is not in business to lose money. Do you feel you can break even or make money on an Overeem fight? In terms of your question, I am more surprised the UFC did not bring back Mousasi if the rumor is true than Bellator not deciding to sign Overeem.

I just saw how much he made in his last fight after I sent that ? Damn, maybe he was asking a million per fight from Bellator. They made the right decision in passing on him. Now it makes sense.

I think the question on Travis Browne starts with do Ray Sefo and Ricky Lundell agree with Dana White that it’s time for Browne to retire. If they do not agree with that assessment and Browne wants to continue fighting, I believe his next fight will be in Bellator or PFL. After what’s happened in his last four fights, I do not see the UFC brining him back for another fight.

When it comes to Arlovski and Mir, 2 different situations. First on Arlovski. Does he want to continue after what has happened recently in his fights. I am guessing he wants to continue fighting and Bellator would seem to make sense. However, I would not rule out the PFL based on how much money he could make in 6 fights in 2018 as opposed to fighting in Bellator. Now when it comes to Mir, Bellator has to think about this. Let’s say they sign Mir. Do you want to attempt to schedule him for a fight before his USADA suspension is up? Also, I think they will have a difficult time finding a commission to approve Mir for a fight while on his USADA suspension.

On Duffy, haven’t heard anything concrete on what’s going to be next for him. I think he would be a great addition to the Bellator lightweight roster, but doubt they overpay for his services. I have seen the rumor on Mousasi and I am surprised he appears to be heading to Bellator. I felt that UFC was going to do what they could to keep him, especially since he had recently been on multiple UFC media tours. Clearly, Bellator offered much more money that UFC was willing to pay and that’s great for Mousasi.

I meant after Mir’s suspension is over. But they can sign him now and promote him for a fight for next year. Or he can do some commentary for heavyweight fights. UFC didn’t think Mousasi was that big of a name or draw.

Another option for Mir could be ACB, since he already has a working relationship with them. Here is a question for Mousasi, do you think he can draw 300k+ PPV buys?

What do you think of UFC going up against Bellator 183? I thought they weren’t gonna go at each other anymore. Didn’t they agree not to counter program each other?

The UFC announced the Sept. 23 fight night card in Japan back in May, so it’s actually Bellator deciding to go head to head with them.

But UFC card is same time as Bellator card 9 est instead of their usual time 10 est.

      • Jason Floyd

Broadcast information has not been released at this time by the UFC. Something to note on this event, the fight card is on Saturday, September 23 in Japan. Typically, the Japan events have been on Sunday (Saturday here in the United States due to time difference).
