Benson Henderson talks recovery from knee injury, fighting Patricky Pitbull, and new weight classes

The main event of Saturday’s Bellator 183 will be a key matchup in the lightweight division as former Bellator title challengers will look to make their case for a title shot as Benson Henderson returns from injury to take on Bellator veteran Patricky “Pitbull” Freire.

Henderson (24-7) made his Bellator debut last year and has gone 1-2 in the promotion and both of those defeats came in title fights. This will be his first fight in ten months as he’s coming off a split decision lost against former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler at Bellator 165.

During last week’s episode of “The MMA Report Podcast,” Henderson was a guest on the podcast to preview his matchup against Pitbull on Saturday in San Jose, California at Bellator 183. Along with previewing the fight, Henderson talked about his recovery from a knee injury and the new weight classes recently approved by the Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports.
