Jon Jones: “It might be a one punch knockout for me this time”

Jon Jones will be taking on Dan Henderson in two weeks at UFC 151 in Las Vegas and Henderson is know for his impressive knockouts.

However, could Jones be the guy that wins by knockout at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on September 1st?

Jones has been working on his kick boxing with his coaches Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn. He realizes that he is becoming a better kick boxer and that he may be the one with the one punch knockout power in the upcoming title fight.

“The biggest thing I have been doing differently is just learning how to put people down,” Jones said. “We are realizing by watching my old fights that I am becoming a pretty good kick boxer, but I am not dropping anybody. So we are working on foundation, using your legs and working up power. Everyone is taking about Dan Henderson’s knockout power, but it might be just be a one punch for me this time.”

During his eleven UFC fights (10-1), Jones has finished three of his opponents by TKO and the most recent coming at UFC 128 against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. He has not shown the ability to knock his opponent out with one punch, but he continues to show improved striking in each fight.

It would seem more likely that Henderson to score the knockout victory in this fight and he has never been knocked out in his career.

However, would it shocking if he does get a knockout victory? It would be hard to bet against the champion since he has dominated every fighter he has faced since winning the title last year.
