Melvin Guillard reacts to first career lost by knockout

The most exciting fight of UFC 150 was the co-main event with Melvin Guillard suffering his first career lost by knockout.

After the fight, Guillard talked to FUEL TV about being knocked out for the first time and he didn’t know he got hit with a leg kick till after the fight.

“It’s my first knockout,” Guillard said. It’s kind of tough to deal with. Things did not seem right when I missed weight yesterday. It’s the first time missing weight and the first time getting knocked out. It’s a little tough to deal with.”

After yesterday’s weigh-in’s, UFC President Dana White felt that Guillard was not himself and “The Young Assassin” said that missing weight bothered him.

“It was the weight cut,” he said. “I started cutting weight at 6 a.m. and didn’t finish cutting weight till 2 o’clock. I still could not make the weight and I don’t know what was wrong with my body. I felt bothered by missing the weight. It really did bother me and it’s not my character to miss weight.”
