The first of three women’s bouts at tonight’s Strikeforce card was in the featherweight division as Germaine de Randamie earned a unanimous decision over Hiroko Yamanaka.
De Randamie (3-2) won all three rounds on the judges scorecards and kept the fighting standing all three rounds.
She landed 50 % of her total strikes, where her opponent was only able to land 25%. Along with landing more total strikes, she had an edge of 32-6 in power strikes landed.
Yamanaka (12-3) attempted to keep her distance in the fight and did attempt to get the fight to the ground and several occassions. However, De Randamie was able to stop all of the takedowns and controlled all three rounds.
De Randamie has now won two of her three fights in Strikeforce and Yamanaka has now gone 0-1, 1NC in Strikeforce.
