UFC 150 Preliminary Card Preview: Nik Lentz vs. Eiji Mitsuoka

The first fight from the UFC 150 preliminary card will be a featherweight bout as Nik Lentz (23-5-2, 1NC) meets Eiji Mitsuoka (18-8-2).

This fight will be shown on the UFC Facebook page and is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. ET.

Lentz started his UFC career by going 5-0-1, but he gone 0-2, 1 NC in his last three fights. His last fight took place at UFC on FOX 2 against Evan Dunham and the fight was stopped by the cageside doctor after the second round. All of his previous fights have been as a lightweight and will be making his featherweight debut in this fight.

Mitsuoka (18-8-2) made his UFC debut earlier this year against Takanori Gomi and was defeated by TKO in the second round. He is a veteran of Pride and has won four of his last six fights. 11 of his 18 victories are by submission and five of his last six victories are by submission.

Both fighters have a reach of 68 inches and their striking statistics are nearly identical. During his bout with Mark Bocek, Lentz was taken down in every round and Mitsuoka has a takedown accuracy of 41%. During his time with the UFC and Pride, Mitsuoka has a takedown defense of 100% and Lentz averages over three takedowns every 15 minutes of fighting.

With the background of Mitsuoka, Lentz will likely stay away from the ground game of his opponent. If Lentz can stay away from the submission attempts of his opponent, he should walk away with the victory.
