The UFC 150 pay-per-view will start off with a featherweight bout as Ultimate Fighter alum Justin Lawrence (4-0) takes on Max Holloway (5-1).
Lawrence was a contestant on last season’s Ultimate Fighter Live and was the first pick by Dominick Cruz.
Lawrence competed as a lightweight in the Ultimate Fighter reality show and will be making his UFC featherweight debut in this fight.
He made his official UFC debut in the live finale against John Cofer and finished the fight in the third round with a head kick knockout. For his win over Cofer, he won the fight of the night and the knockout of the night bonus.
Holloway started his career with four straight wins and made his UFC debut earlier this year against Dustin Poirier. He was an injury replacement and was dominated by Poirier. He was defeated in the first round by a mounted triangle armbar submission.
He returned at the Ultimate Fighter Finale and dominated Pat Schilling to get his first UFC victory by unanimous decision.
Both of these fighters are strikers and this fight has the potential to end up as the fight of the night. The key for both fighters will be who can push the pace and have his opponent on his heels. This fight has potential to be a slug fest and someone may end up getting knocked out.
