Gunnar Nelson was scheduled to meet Pascal Krauss at next week’s UFC on FUEL TV 5 in England, but Krauss has pulled out of the fight and Nelson will now meet DaMarques Johnson.
The news of the fight was reported in recent days and the UFC confirmed the news and announced the fight would be a catchweight bout of 175 pounds.
Johnson (16-11) is currently on a two fight losing streak and most recently lost to Mike Swick by knockout at UFC on FOX 4 in August.
The former Ultimate Fighter Finalist has had an up and down career in the UFC as he has gone 4-5 in the organization.
Nelson (9-0-1) will be making his UFC debut in this fight and is currently on a nine fight winning streak. In all nine of his victories, he has finished his opponent and his last four wins are by submission.
UFC on FUEL TV 5 takes place next Saturday from the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England and will be headlined by a five round heavyweight bout between Stefan Struve and Stipe Miocic.
