It had been rumored that UFC on FX 6 would take place in Australia and UFC President Dana White has confirmed that rumor.
White announced on Twitter that UFC on FX 6 will take place on December 14th in Australia and annoouned a middleweight bout as former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard meets Rousimar Palhares.
It’s unknown if the middleweight bout will be in the main event of the card.
Lombard (31-3-1, 1NC) signed with the UFC earlier this year after a run with the Bellator Fighting Championships. He made his promotional debut at UFC 149 and was defeated in the co-main event against Tim Boetsch by split decision.
Palhares (14-4) is a ten fight veteran of the UFC and has gone 7-3 in the organization. He is known for his heel hook submissions, which 6 of his 14 career wins have come by that submission. He entered UFC on FOX 3 with a three fight winning streak, but was defeated by Alan Belcher in the first round by TKO.
