Bellator heavyweight champion Cole Konrad has reportedly retired from mixed martial arts according to two separate reports.
Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press in Minnesota reported yesterday on Twitter that Konrad has called it a career and now MMAJunkie.com is reporting that Konrad has indeed retired.
Bellator officials have not released a statement on the report of Konrad’s retirement.
Konrad (9-0) won the inaugural Bellator heavyweight tournament during the third season, but has only been in the Bellator cage twice since winning the title in October of 2010. His last victory came earlier this year, when he defeated Eric Prindle in sixty seconds.
